Convair was an American Aircraft Manufacturing Company based in San Diego, California. Formed by the merger of Consolidated Aircraft and Vultee Aircraft in 1943, it later become a subsidiary of General Dynamics in 1953. Opening multiple facilities throughout the city, the company once employed 18,000 San Diegans. Medals from Convair, as well as any I find from Consolidated, Vultee, or General Dynamics will be posted here, even if not from San Diego.
